Just an update, to anyone looking for this drain tube. You can see I have my fingers on it, it’s a short 90 degree tube that comes out of the passenger front firewall between the right side exhaust and the frame. It’s kind of tricky to mount the Toyota air refresh tube to this drain tube. I recommend getting it in as tight as you can and then holding it with one hand while using your other hand to dispense the product.
Yup, I tried that first, but it wasn’t humid enough to get it dripping. On humid days when I noticed a puddle, I knew what it was but never bothered to pay closer attention. Thanks again!
So you installed the Toyota cleaner from the top side? I am noticing a smell in my GX and typically keep my AC on recirculate. The smell doesn't seem like a musty smell, It's more like a transmission fluid (mechanic shop) smell, Perhaps I am misinterpreting the scent. I park in my garage and show no signs of leaks on the floor. I will probably try this cleaner to see if that is my problem as it is seems common for us. Thanks.
Hi! I want to spray Lysol to kill mildew that smells badly on my 2016 Lexus GX 460.
Can somebody suggest where the air intake vents are inside and outside the vehicle.

time to replace your cabin air filter? I use carbon impregnated one...no bad smell for me.
I used something similar to this years ago in an old Maxima. I pulled the cabin filter and sprayed in through that area. Excess product dripped out the evaporator drain tube. Or just spray the Lysol into slot where cabin filter resides in the glove box with fan running on low. Maybe spray through a straw or small hose to ensure it goes into system and not all over inside of glove box?
Not sure of the best way to tackle the unit in the rear. Since I was on the same page... a pic of the cooler unit on Canadian models.
I just purchased a 2018 GX 460 which is my fourth Lexus. In the past I have owned two ES350s, and a GX 470. I have set all of my recirculate functions the same way, which is on auto mode. On all of my other Lexus's the system automatically changes from outside air to recirculate automatically. I have owned my new GX for a little over a week, and the air conditioning has never switched off of recirculate, even if I turn the dial to 80 degrees. Could this have something to do with the new smog sensors? Has anyone else had this issue with their new model GX. Thanks
I have a Premium model with smog sensors, and live just north of the Dallas area. I have driven to Sherman, Texas where there should be very little smog, and the same thing happened. One of the tech guys at the Lexus dealership said his IS recirculate mode rarely goes into re-circulate mode. This doesn't sound right to me. It has been hot here, but my ES 350 is just as hot and goes into outside air mode after cool down. Just wondering if anyone else has had the same experience with a new model with smog sensors.
