Confirmed that OBD Fusion works with GROM using a ELM327 OBD2 module. I still need to get the additional package to try TMPS and AT temps. I also purchased a BT device, Vgate MC+ similar to OBDLink MX+ to try too. Will report back on that on how it works on both IOS and Android.

I just received the Vgate Vlinker MC+ Bluetooth (BLE) and confirmed that it works nicely with OBD Fusion and also works with TPMS network for Lexus and Toyota. It looks very similar to the OBDLink MX+

For IOS, it connects directly OBD Fusion app via Bluetooth LE in the app menu without having your phone connect to BT first. For Android, you first connect to BT then from the app choose the device name in BT. I confirmed this with GROM.
I’m going to get the Lexus package for Android and use it with GROM.

@bbqsoup That is a nice setup for all the built in data and diagnostics that OBD Fusion can provide. It is firmware upgradeable too like the MX+

One of the review said it is almost exactly as the OBDLink module. I'm surprise how fast and responsive it is as well compares to Wifi.
Still need to figure out how to update the firmware as I think it needs a Windows machine with BT. I need to install a Virtual Windows on my Mac

I purchased extra package for Android and loaded up TPMS network. It works great!
It looks like there are way more PIDs than I remembered from the old OBD Fusion, probably all the new updates.

To move between different screen, I have to use an air mouse as the Lexus screen doesn't support swipe, but it works out fine and much easier to move around with the air mouse than touch screen.

I don’t remember these sensors were there when I originally bought it. But it is nice to see the outside temp as well as in cabin temp

Hi guys, I'm a bit late to this thread but I'm looking to buy an OBD scanner (as @Acrad suggested to me on another forum) and I was wondering whether there is a consensus over the device. It seems like Vgate Vlinker MC+ that @bbqsoup mentioned is almost 3 times less expensive (it can be bought on ebay for around $40-50) than OBD Link MC+. Does OBD Link MC+ justify a much higher price? I would like ot get it for my Lexus GX460 right now and probably would use it with some other Toyota-made vehicles in the future. It seems like with Vlinker I would have to go with OBDLink Fusion which is extra $10 + I would have to pay another $15 for a Toyota extra features package. So it sounds like with Vlinker I still can get everything for 50+10+15=$75 which is still much less expensive then OBDLink MC+ at $140. Or am I not thinking right about it?

I have the Veepeak.
Link Link
. For $25 I was expecting to hate it, but I can’t find anything to complain about. It pairs instantly with the OBD Fusion app and reads every sensor available, including those in the Toyota/Scion special package like trans temps, lockup status, etc. Literally can’t go wrong

If you don’t need to check tpms, then a cheaper standard vgate (not MC+) or veepeak device will do the same.
OBD Fusion is nice and you can download more packages as needed.

One pro of the OBDLink MX+ is it includes every expansion pack for all automakers and model years they support.

I’m happy with mine. It also doesn’t drain the vehicle battery so I just leave it plugged in.

Hi guys, for some reason, I didn't get the notification about all your replies in my email, so I'm only now seeing them Thanks a lot for all your help and recommendations. I would like to check the TPMs so I will go with either Obdlink MX+ or Vgate MC+. Thanks again for all your help!

Just picked up the OBDLink MX+ to get rid of my old Scan Gauge II. For monitoring most things, are we using Network A? And then to view tire pressure data, we have to disconnect and then reconnect under Tire Pressure Monitor?

Is there a way to view all of the data at once or do you just have to switch back and forth?

That is one of the very few cons... you do have to connect to TPMS network separately.

I need to look through my old email exchanges with developer and reach out again to see if that limitation can be overcome.
