Default Buzzing sound alert coming from inside passenger side of trunk

This is a post to help someone from an unnecessary trip to the dealer.

So I was moving a bunch of items in and out of the trunk the other day and the next morning my wife said that there is a weird buzzing sound coming from the trunk.

Naturally, I did a google search and found that someone said that the noise was coming from the fuel pump, so I look behind the plastic paneling and sure enough there looked to be some sort of pump hidden behind the paneling where that noise was coming from.

So I took it to the dealer and said hey there is a noise coming from the back passenger side of this GX460, I looked around on the internet and it may be the fuel pump. He said NO WAY THEY DO NOT GO BAD IN THE GX.
Sure enough, he was right!

The noise was from the 3rd-row seating, I must have bumped one of the buttons to raise and lower them.
IF the seats are not 100% down you will get a faint buzzing sound that will drive you mad.

Hopefully, this will help someone and save you from the embarrassment of the dealer calling you back to tell you your 3rd row was not down all the way, come pick up your car .

THANK YOU!

I found this post after searching “fuel pump.” Buzzing started last night after driving around with the third row up all day. Thought for sure it was the fuel pump as I’ve had them go bad on other vehicles in the past. Sure enough, after reading your post I went out and pressed the down button on the rear seats and the driver side dropped down about a half inch. No more noise. Whew

Next question, why does it make that sound if it’s not down all the way? Seems too faint to be any kind of warning

Yep, the sound will not go off until it is down 100%, I'm guessing its to warning to people around the seats that are going up or down to not get their fingers smashed or risk damage to the seat mechanism is someone or something is on them when they are moving. IDK but your right its too soft and I feel there should be some visual indicator on the dash as well.

Dude, this happened to me right after I brought it home from the dealership.

Once home, I decided to do an additional clean up (like their detailing wasn't enough), and take a tour of some of the features.

The next day the wife took it out for a brief moment and came back in inquiring about the buzzing noise.

It was early in the AM, so calling the dealer was pointless. But if I drove there, I'd be there when it opened.

I felt like a damn fool when the guy just hit the rear seat buttons, and the buzzing stopped.

Head-slap, indeed!

Default High-pitched sound

Does the "low tire pressure" warning in the dash also come with a high-pitched sound? I've checked all my tires except the spare, and the light in the dash is still on - checking the spare tire's pressure will be next. However, I also have this high-pitched noise that stays on the whole time the ignition is on, and stays on for 10 seconds after turning off the truck. Any ideas? Thanks!

Do you have powered 3rd row seats?

If so, sure it isn't that alarm?

The TPMS low pressure light should only be a visual indicator with no sounds. I'm not sure if that changed for the 2020+ models.

Is the noise more of a whine? It might be something electrical playing through the speakers (bad power charger?) or it could the fan unit behind the glovebox making noise. But usually the fan shuts off when the car is off. Check your cabin filter and see if it has any leaves or debris inside.

This was it! Honestly, I didn't fully understand what all that link was saying, but I went out, extended both seats all the way up, then all the way back down, cranked the truck, and viola! The noise is gone - thanks Acrad! The noise did start right after I had my car washed - thought it was just coincidental, but I bet they must've hit those switches. (They had the DAC feature turned on when they were through - ugh!).
