Yes, I see it on start up. I missed that the dash indicator is only a trouble light if it remains on.

Been reading on Mud today and saw this thread: https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/kds...arning.849860/

Is there a similar known corrosion problem on the GX? I would expect similar issues on all common components, but you never know....

Bulb might be out.... just on for a short check period before ignition.

Mojlnir: Only rusty KDSS actuators I have ever seen online were on some Russian videos. That being said... I imagine anything residing in areas using salt might see the same.

EDIT: Standard on all GX 460s and available on Sport Model GX 470s.

It is. All years and trim.

Thanks for posting technical information. I understood the basics of this system but this added greatly to my understanding, especially about the accumulators and electronic control.

Are you absolutely sure that all year GX460 and GX470 have KDSS? I just read the toyota120.com. forum which has all year 1st gen sales literature and it says KDSS was an option starting with about year 2006.

My statement was for the GX 460s. They all have KDSS. I wasn't referring to the rare sport model GX 470s that have KDSS.

Looks like 2004 it became an option

"2004 Model
For 2004 the GX underwent some minor changes. It received a sealed transmission with WS ATF, which is supposed to last the lifetime of the vehicle. This also means no dipstick for the transmission.

It also received KDSS as an option. KDSS is a suspension system that can automatically disconnect the swaybars in cross axle situations. This allows for more suspension flexibility in offroad conditions. As an added benefit it allows for stiffer swaybars, which improves the onroad handling substantially on the GX."

Excuse me for questioning your knowledge on all things Lexus Arcad but Brickheads question was and I quote Do ALL GX come with KDSS, not do all GX460 come with KDSS.

This was mentioned by a member over at IH8MUD

https://blackgatecustoms.com/product...-toggle-switch

"Want to get the most out of your KDSS equipped 4Runner, Land Cruiser, or Lexus GX? With our revolutionary plug and play KDSS control switch kit, you can control when your KDSS system is engaged or not.Above 12mph, your KDSS is programmed to go into its stiff or "control" mode, but if you're off roading or hitting bumps or potholes at 25mph, you don't want your KDSS system fighting your suspension (whether factory or especially upgraded aftermarket). By using this switch, you can keep the KDSS in soft mode for much better ride comfort at medium speeds letting your suspension do its work and then when you find well paved roads again or need to make quick lane changes on the highway where you need the stiffer dampening for sharper handling characteristics, flip the switch to re-engage your KDSS seamlessly.

Sold in 2 variants, 1 with custom factory LED lighted switch for visual indication (along with the activated KDSS dash light), 1 without switch (terminating wire ends, so you can plug it into a control module you already have ie Switchpros, sPod, etc)"

There was also a mention a routine they are working on to help eliminate lean issues as well by a soft to hard actuation and back.
