Default Lexus parts? Spoke to a shop owner

yesterday about his rec on vehicles.

He said Lexus parts were "High" and that they werent the same as Toyota. I know to some extent this is BS.

Is there any truth to his statement.

He is a GM / Chevy guy I rhink even though he has an Exotic Cars repair shop

He's probably used to AC Delco China parts that are cheap but need to be replaced frequently due to poor quality.

There are certainly some unique/distinct Lexus parts that don't cross over into Toyota. And there are many cases where the equivalent Lexus part costs more than Toyota. But in terms of quality there is no difference - they are equally high quality. Best bet is to cross reference everything you can and figure out if you can buy a Toyota part versus a Lexus part. When I did that with my rear ABS wire, I think I saved $40 or something like that. Or even better, find the Denso or Aisin part directly, where you get OEM quality for less than car brand price.
