Default Wheel Well Rubbing

Hello,
New here. I just bought a used GX and have some oversized BFG's that only rub on the passenger side inside part of the wheel well where the running boards connect to a piece of black plastic on the inside of the wheel. This has caused the factory screw and plastic fastening to break. Should I try to tac down the plastic so that it is flush or just trim the fat? Any recommendations on how to have this piece sit flat and secure would be welcomed. Images attached. Thank you.

dont see any suggestions on fixes though.

if you notice my photos the screw is completely gone and damaged the opening.

so again. Do I cut that part off or tac down differently?

cutting seems easiest but hate to have that removed and need it later

best,

Sorry....I'm not sure on post damage repairs... I have heard of some using a heat gun to mold things back before or shortly afterward as they were putting on the larger tires and noticed the rub.

You might have to use some heat to get it out of the way and then look for some misc hardware bolt, hardware and nut to reattach. I don't know offhand if that bolt just threads into something like this

maybe cut the damaged plastic off and fasten down the existing plastic.

Install something like Acrad mentioned here.

Use a heat gun to mold it out of the way then drill a hole in the liner and zip tie the corner back.

Clean it well and use some of the black gorilla tape and tape it around the inside corner
