Default No forward or reverse on GX460

Hi - I just bought a 2013 GX460 with 36K miles. This morning when I put it in reverse or drive the transmission engages but it does not move forward or reverse. Nothing happens if you give it gas. I tried to push it out by putting it in neutral but it still feels like something is lock. I've even disconnected the battery to reset the computer and nothing.

Has anyone else had this issue on their GX and know the fix?

Will vehicle go into 4L in neutral?

Is your powertrain warranty still in effect? 6 years/70k miles

The issue turned out to be rust build up in the parking brake as discussed in the link Tecman provided. I gave it a little extra gas and that did the trick.

Can always count on Acrad35751 and Tecman to figure out what Lexus would charge $150 just to look.

I got bit by that one last year myself after a fresh carwash and put rig away right away with parking brake set.

Awesome, thanks for sharing your result.

For what it's worth, I rarely ever set my parking brake after a mechanic warned me many years ago against using a parking brake on hot brakes. I doubt I ever get the rotors hot enough on the GX but it's a habit I'm stuck with.

Once winter there was a sudden rain storm and the roads flooded. That night everything froze hard. The truck was wet and everything froze up solid and it wouldn't move until temps warmed up. .
