I couldn’t get live data with a the 1.4.x cables on my ‘12… a 2.0.4 cable worked fine for live data and Active Tests.

If you just need to perform customizations and pull codes a 1.4.x cable should be fine though.

Thank you. Any downside to the 2.0.4 cable other than cost? Looks like 108.00 on Amazon.

It would just be the cost IMO

Would this be 2020 and onwards? I just picked up a 2023 and also want to get a different set of wheels for the winter, with their own set of OEM TPMS sensors.

And if self-registration works with the new sensors, would the spare tire impact this at all (assuming it has a sensor as well)?

Thanks in advance!

Page 489-491 of the 2023 owner's manual, you need to "register ID codes" first then "initialize the tire pressure warning system" next.
The spare tire is re-registered during this process.
I have done this to mine for the past 2 winters swapping summers & winters, both sets have OEM sensors

Thanks for the reply, Ian!

So in essence, you just swapped sets of wheels with OEM sensors and they automatically registered every time?

You have to follow the process in the manual as I mentioned above, it is not automatic, you do it through the dash/steering wheel navigation screen, but don't need any special equipment or trip to the dealer.

Has anyone ever figured out the Techstream fatal error 0xc004001? I've searched the internet to the end of the universe. I purchased the 2.0.4 cable, which is what I'm told would fix it, and it will not work on our 2015 GX for live data. I've tried multiple versions of the software, and I'm running it on XP through Virtual Box. The irony is that it will read live data on my 2011 ES. All other functions work on both vehicles--just not the live data for the GX. I need this so my mechanic friend can look at the fuel trim values. I've had an intermittent code for EGR/MAF. I cleaned the MAF and TB; helped a little, but I still have a rough idle. No more codes. I'm hoping someone has a live data fix for this.

unsure if thats even a techstream error or a windows error during techstream.
check Idel at +/- some rpm, <=100 deviation.
start, put in drive, still rough?
rough when steadily pressing accelerator to add 50 rpm?
if no, could be TB resistive trace
also you should be able to read at least some fuel trim info live just using a generic odb2 with torque

The customization function on v16 and v18.00.008 doesn't seem to work on my 2018 GX. The tab is present on the left but does nothing when I click on the actual item. Is there any fix other than downgrade to v10.30.029? Thanks
