This?

I haven't been hit with it yet but nailed my bumper pretty bad spring last year but issue above hasn't cropped up yet. I did have to drill out the rivets on the right mount that attaches plastic bumper to the aluminum bumper and add bolts and nuts to it though.

I was poking around some GX pics and remembered this thread, and found the pics that caused me to ask about removing the housing. If only changing the ballast and not adjusting bumpers, etc., then I'm not really sure the housing needs removed. It earlier posts you can see the ballast and 4 screws, heres a pic of the same part but from underneath while still on the GX.
should be able to remove the 4 screws from below and then disconnect from above.
in other areas of the GX, lexus calls out extra unnecessary steps in their repair process

headlight adjustment
Hello, sorry if theres a similar post here already, i couldn't find it however. i need to adjust my Driver Side headlight, its pointing to the left bit more than it needs to after the headlight was replaced due to an accident. I saw in the owners manual how to, supposedly two bolts that you just screw in either left or right direction in order to get to the level that satisfies you. Today i wanted to do so and i couldnt find the 2nd screw. Could someone point me in the right direction
Thanks.
Thanks.

you dont need to remove the top cover to adjust the lights. the yellow circles are the adjustments.
the middle part is a gearbox that keeps the lows and highs aimed together. with some bulbs you might not want this.
i recommend to remove the gearbox then you will see 2 more of those screw adjust ends.
if not you can just use the screwdriver in the blue channels.

2010-2013 AFS HID headlight adjustments, conversions, component replacements
I have had my 2012 GX460 premium model with HID lights for few years and looking at the various forum threads here and my owner's manual, struggling figure out how to adjust the height as it seems project too low. Try to find holes on the front engine cover for quick adjustment with the wrench per manual/some thread but, no luck. Various photos posted where to adjust once you pop out the front engine cover but, couldn't find it. Could someone please post any new photos or short DYI type of video for 2010 - 2013 style headlight with factory HID where I can adjust the headlight vertically? Much appreciate any help.

dont need to remove any cover, the cover has holes for a long philips screwdriver. this is the passenger side example. the blue are the screwdriver guides.
theres 3 adjustments, low left/right, hi left/right, and combined up/down.
adjusting the low up will also move the highs up, the offset is fixed with that white gear box
i recommend to remove the gearbox to get independent hi low up/down adjustment capability

I tried it a while ago and gave up. It's a PITA.

the bottom yellow circle shows the adjust cap removed. as long as you get a long philips #2 in there its as easy as twisting the screwdriver.
you can shine a light to see the engagement.
another option is to use a socket, i think its an 8mm.
if you go too far up/down you can damage the gearbox.
the only difficulty should be if the screwdriver isnt engaging properly, or if the gearbox is damaged. ive seen both.

Thanks for the suggestion. As mentioned, I had tried with cover on with my long 10 screwdriver and without the cover and no luck. The owners manual did show the hold to adjust it but, when trying it and aligning the hole and see the back unit there wasn't any adjustment dial. Again its ****** mystery.
Also The picture that John posted was from previous thread and I'm not certain if that is the same headlight unit for 2010-2013 but, previously without any luck but, I will check and retry it again. Just to confirm from top yellow circle then middle yellow circle, and the bottom yellow circle, which one will change low beam vertically for specific HID light? Thanks again.

thats a 2012 passenger assembly for HID.
the left of the pic is the bottom of the assembly
the low and the high are connected by the gearbox, the middle yellow circle
the screwdriver i use is over 12" long i believe

the attachment above doesnt show the gearbox. if you dont have a gearbox, then the easy way to remember is that the two adjusters closest to the low beam adjust the low beam. the adjuster towards the center of the assembly is up/down and the adjuster on the edge is left/right
the gearbox is the white plastic part that ties 2 adjusters together

heres mine, the battery side. you should be able to see the gearbox or adjuster without moving anything. that driver and extension are maybe 10" and about half sticks out
the driver engages the adjuster, easy. you can also use an 8mm i think on the adjuster end if you dont have the gearbox
if you have a gearbox you can also use a hex in the center gearbox hole
i dont have the gearbox, cant keep the gearbox if you only want to adjust the low beam up/down without moving the high beam. could always put it back on after but why

I concur with John00. Just insert you screwdriver in the hole shown and turn clockwise to lower the beam, and counterclockwise to raise it. You can see the length of the screwdriver i used. The adjusting screw is straight underneath the hole.

How to adjust headlight aim vertically?
This has been discussed at length in other threads without any real solutions that I could find.
I have a Premium and the lights have leveling motors in them that I would like to leave in place.
Is there a way to adjust the sensor linkage on the suspension to change the height of the headlights? Has anyone done it this way? I don’t want to remove the motor system the auto levels the lights, I would prefer to dial it in.
Thanks in advance!
