I probably get a new one when it is driven to the ground lol. I kept my last SUV for 18 years so I have a long way to go with this one. The funny thing was while it was being serviced, i got a nx300 and a rx350 as loaner and my wife said while they are nice but the GX feels more luxury and rides much nicer.
Took my RX in for service today and got a 2019 NX 300 loaner.. While it was nimble by comparison, I could not stand the cabin noise - felt very loud compared to my GX and even RX.

Yes the NX300 we got was pretty loud in the cabin too, very Camry like loud.
Sure a long overdue refresh should likely see some interior updates.
But the question is will we get a refresh or a redesign next. Any refresh or redesign talk is pure speculation.
The last bit of real info we've gotten is the Autonews interview with Mike Sweers, talking about how in June of 2017 he and others arrived for their "two year assignment" developing the new global architecture for all Toyota BOF trucks and SUVs.
Presumably that assignment is over in July of 2019, by which time there should be some new BOF vehicles rolling out or at the very least on the way. But even that is speculation.
We can rely on the fact that trucks and large SUVs are huge cash cows for manufacturers, and Toyota's whole lineup is completely ancient, and that any manufacturer in their right mind would do everything they can to modernize their truck and large SUV lineup, but Toyota is lazy Toyota....
Does anyone know when the GX will get redesigned or updated? I’ve read articles that claim MY 2020 is when the GX gets updated. Any info from you experts here? Thanks!
This guy is totally BS, and basically offer the same speculation that were floating out for quite some time now. You don't need the "inside" connection to logically think IF there is going to be any refresh, it will ONLY be moving closer to LX "look like". As for the Toyota Sense 2.0 and Apple CarPlay will made available to the entire toyota/Lexus line at some point anyway. In fact, BSM, PCM will become mandated by laws anyway, just like backup camera and TPMS have already become mandated items on any passage cars in the US.
The refreshed Lexus GX also has a slightly different instrument panel and three-spoke steering wheel.
A new gallery of spy photos provides our very first look at the refreshed Lexus GX. The aging SUV is finally due for some upgrades, albeit fairly tiny ones.
The exterior changes are only at the front end of this test mule. The concealment doesn't really hide the redesigned LED headlights. Lexus' polarizing spindle grille still adorns the GX, but this revised version appears to be the sharper-edged design from modern products like the latest LS and LC 500. A contrasting silver area is at the very bottom of the front fascia.
On the inside, the changes are also very minor. There's a new three-spoke, steering wheel. The multifunction display behind analog gauges is larger now. The layout of the center stack is the same, but it's possible the infotainment system software may have an upgrade.
Powertrain changes for the refreshed GX are a complete mystery at this point, and these spy shots don't hint at any significant tweaks. The current model uses a 4.6-liter V8 with 301 horsepower (225 kilowatts) and 329 pound-feet (446 Newton-meters). A six-speed automatic gearbox routes power to an all-wheel-drive system with an electronic locking differential. One possibility is that Lexus could add a more modern transmission with additional gears as a way to improve the SUV's fuel economy.
The current generation of the Lexus GX dates back to the 2010 model year in the United States, and a refresh gave it a revised look to the 2014 example of the SUV. The model has been a moderate success for the marque. In 2018, The company moved 26,724 units of the GX in the U.S, which was only down slightly from 27,190 of them in 2017.
