I have a couple spare folding motors I purchased off of Aliexpress just for backup in case they fail in future. They are pretty cheap at around $30 each there.
You bought whole new power fold mirrors off of Aliexpress? I just looked on there and on Alibalba, none found but I did finally see a set of the frames along with the stuff I just bought, the motors and such. What did you search for to find the mirrors? After watching the video, I do not look forward to trying to take them apart.

No... I just bought spare mirror folding motors for my stock "power folding mirrors" in post #12.

Just in case I need to fix in the future.

Oh, thanks. I got those. Am wondering if I need the metal frames. Don’t want to tear it apart to find out I need them. Will prob just have to spend the 100 bucks to buy the whole frame and kit from Alibaba and wait a month to do it. Put the OBD thing on my wife’s 17 and now she will never forget to put her mirrors in!!

For those looking to do this upgrade, these photos helped me understand what the parts are. This metal thing is the part the mirror attaches to. Will have to do more research before I tackle this.

Does anyone know if this frame is needed or will the non-power fold OEM mirrors work once the new motor is attached? I’m guessing that I need the full kit with the wiring and all.

What I think I need to order.

This is what that part is.

Another view, I was unable to discern what it was until I saw this picture and the one above this one.

Another view.

This picture with the motor attached to it.

I went down this path not too long ago,I believe you do need the frames and there isnt a specific part number for it. Prado frames work i think, but beware of the ali express purchase - i got a genuine spool of thread instead of the kit i ordered and that was the end of this journey for me 😂😂😂

Button I ordered on there was also not the most legit. Let me know if you pull the trigger and dont get scammed, but defi use a credit card just in case like i did.

I am surprised that people would spend the time retrofitting their old mirrors with motors instead of buying the new mirrors with the motors (and auto dimming features) and then selling their used mirrors on ebay for good money back. I did it this way and ultimately I spent around 150 dollars to get factory folding mirrors with auto dimming.

Just my 2c.

Yea, looking back i completely agree. For me, i was just unsure if I could recoup that money by selling my old mirrors - how quickly did you sell yours ? Also, i think I initially went that route because Ultraman said he was able to purchase the parts separately as opposed to the whole thing - something i could not figure out

Anyone have a diagram / installation instructions on how to install morotized folding mirrors. I did some research on parts buut I do not know what else is needed. So I have 2018 GX Base model with non-mororized mirrors right now.

I bought these parts and modules:
Motorized mirrors instead of my current model 87940-60P50 / 87910-60P50

87910-60P80 RH - With power folding. With BSM. With camera. Without multi-terrain cam.
87940-60P80 LH - With power folding. With BSM. With camera. Without multi-terrain cam.

COMPUTER ASSEMBLY, OUTER MIRROR CONTROL:

8943060110 LH
8943060100 RH

MIRROR CONTROL SWITCH: (POWER)
84872-60070

Do I need anyother parts/harness etc? How does mirror montrol module is connected inside the door and where is the extra harness that connects to Mirror control switch?
Thank a lot!

P.S. Also have TechStream software for programming.

It was plug and play on my 2011 base. No need for tech stream.

also no need for the computers as you should already have those. All you need is the new switch to control the mirrors and the mirrors themselves.

start by removing the black plastic triangle on the inside of the door for the bolts that hold the mirrors. Then replace the mirrors. I think in order to plug the mirror in you need to remove the interior door panel. Two screws and a lot of plastic fasteners.

Thanks a lot for your reply! I will check if I already have door modules pre-installed, but I doubt they put those in base models at factory. So pretty much its plu and play? As long as the harness wires are the same.
I just need to install mirros, connect to door control module and replace the control switch with new one and that's it?

Here is a picture of what it looks like once you remove the door panel on a 2011 GX base model. You can see the computer is there from factory. Unplug the old mirror remove 3 bolts, put in new mirror and plug it in.

Awesome that you got this done. I’m not shy about doing some things but things that require electrical are not my favorite thing to do.
