Is this a different buzzer? I might need to run the TS test to make it sound.
I also have heard that buzzer. It is located inside of the instrument cluster - and it is not related to this buzzer. This one is only available on the GX460s that have the PCS.

Have you checked to see if there were different wiring harnesses used in this area with PCS/Radar cruise models? I have a auto high beam rear view mirror that uses a different harness as well as differences if one wants to leverage side cameras in the door mirrors.

I'll see if anything shows up as different in my paper '12 Lexus wiring diagram book this weekend. I am out of town right now.

Confusing diagrams as one shows buzzer high up in gauge cluster and the second apparently in the gauge cluster like the buzzer for VSC.

Tell me about it!!! I have found a number of their diagrams to be very confusing. It's frustrating to be stuck on this one small detail.

Looks like connector for buzzer (A9) should be on the same wire run as the Stop Light Control Relay Assembly (A6). I will confirm if this is the case in my official Lexus wiring diagram book as well. If this isn't the case you will likely need to study harnesses for sale from wrecked 460 (so equipped) to see if connector is present there or someone with equipped vehicle will have to trace wiring in theirs.

Diagrams in book are the same as electronic. Also that Skid control buzzer sound comes from area directly behind where you can see it placed on diagram as well.

Thank you Acrad for your help finding the location of this wire!!! It was very difficult to find.

Thankfully, I can now tell everyone that this modification is complete!

Good to hear you got it working.

How much did you have to take apart to get at it?

What do you think final/total cost was?

Now that this project is complete I would like to summarize the steps.

This project is not simple. It requires many parts to complete. With these instructions it's possible to do this is one day, but you will need to have all of the parts ready to go. I am not sure how this process will differ with 2012+ GX460s. It can be done cheaply if one has access to a wrecked GX with ACC/PCS, but these are very rare.

PARTS LIST:
1. ADD Radar Cruise Millimeter Wave Sensor (various part numbers depending on year) 88210-60100 ~1500
2. REPLACE Steering wheel controls for Radar Cruise 84250-60210-C0 ~100
3. ADD Driving Support Computer 88150-60030 ~100
4. ADD Seat Belt Control ECU 89810-60020 ~100
5. REPLACE both front seat belts with PCS compatible ones 73220-60530-C0 and 73210-60790-C0 ~600
6. REPLACE Brake Master Cylinder Solenoid 47217-60111 (NOT SURE IF YOU NEED TO DO THIS, BUT YOU LIKELY DO, LOTS OF WORK) ~800
7. ADD PCS switch 84770-50010 ~30
8. ADD SKID CONTROL BUZZER 86652-50010 ~5
9. REPLACE Front Emblem with Radar Compatible 53141-48050 ~30

Total Spent: $3,265

I did all of the work myself.

As for the location of the SKID CONTROL BUZZER

Here is the difference between the two Brake Master Cylinder Solenoids (nothing obviously different, must be all in the computer inside)

Prior to being ripped out

The metal looks the same between the two. The computers may be different?

No Brake Master Cylinder

Looks like "new" cost is around $5400 ...

88210-60100 - $1480.89

84250-60210-C0 (PN is different depending on color) - $264.97

88150-60030 - $672.32

89810-60020 - $1127.37

73220-60530-C0 - $391.08

73210-60790-C0 - $391.08

47217-60111 - $992.44

84770-50010 - $56.95

86652-50010 - $46.63

53141-48050 - $331.31

I wanted to post a 2 month follow up from this project.

Radar Cruise and Pre-Collision are working like a charm. There is no unintended consequence from this modification. Long drives are just so much easier now. I am very happy to have finished this project.

Amazing project. Not for my league. But I am interested to know how well the ACC does work in general. It’s one feature I have really enjoyed in other vehicles and if I get another GX I think I’d want it. Does it have false stops? do you tow?

This must be what dedication looks like. Here's hoping for the creative option to do it with generic push buttons!

Jeez...$5400 to retrofit?? This is definitely one of the things it will be cheaper to get from factory
