Android Auto / Apple Carplay

It is straight forward if you are handy.
I removed the 12VDC/cigarette lighter outlet and replaced it wit a dual USB outlet at the same time, 1 port for Apple CarPlay and the other I added a 3A 12vdc to 5vdc using the original 12vdc supply.

You plug in your phone, push the NAV button and it switched to CarPlay, push NAV button again and it goes to OEM navi. Only drawback is they they use AUX for audio, so you need to select AUX for audio source, but if you use CarPlay all the time it does not matter

Update. Now it seems to work. I’ll have to keep a close eye on this... I will say other than this issue connecting with the cable has a 99.9% success without trouble unlike the wireless carplay connection. I hate that I’m limited with what all I can use on my 2010.

Has anyone had an issue with Android Auto on the GX460
Has anyone else had an issue with AA on the GX460?
I have a '22 GX460 on order and now I'm a bit concerned
We've had our '22 ES FSport for 3 weeks and I just took it on a 500-mile cruise from Charleston to Boca. AA crapped out and it seems related to the use of the phone (not the make). Once it went down it would not reboot and stabilize until the next morning (I had to do the trip in 2 days because of traffic).
Changed cables, reset the car, restarted the phone all to no avail.
I called Lexus national, while in the car, and they said it was their first call. If that is the case I will probably need a Front End. If others are experiencing it then it is probably a software issue.

Progress made with Android Auto in '22 ES350 FSport
This is posted on the ES forum and posted here originally because I have a GX on order and I had concerns with AA not functioning
I hope y'all had a great Christmas and wish Y'all a Happy and Healthy New Year.
Last week posted regarding AA not being stable on our new ES FSport. AA would load and function and then crash. Once it crashed it would no longer reload and run properly, it would keep crashing.
I spent about 2 hours on the phone with Lexus Telematics trying to troubleshoot the issue while driving from Charleston to Boca. The final direction appeared to be to replace the head unit.
One of the responses (thank you BEN737) to my post, and some further research got me thinking and going in another direction.
I had 2 AA apps on my phone - AA and AA for cell phones, the phone app being the most recent.
I thought perhaps the apps had become corrupted and I deleted the 2 apps.
For the hell of it, I plugged the phone back in and AA came up without the apps!
With a little research and the help of my techie software engineer son, I discovered that Google was now incorporating AA into the Android OS. My guess here is that I had encountered a conflict between the 3 versions of AA despite them appearing to have the same version.
I have not done enough mileage to be certain but AA has been stable since I deleted the apps and the mic icon on the AA screen now function for the phone.
I hope this can help someone else
