Default Bridgestone Dueler Alena’s vs. Michelin LTX

What do you guys think? Bridgestone is cheaper, but I drive my GX about 6,000 miles a year. I usually buy tires from Costco. Not sure about Michelin’s. I don’t do much off roading.

Where do you live and on what road/weather conditions do you drive?

SF Bay Area. Combo of city/ freeway driving. Once a year to the snow.

Neither the Alenza or the LTX are good in any significant amount of snow. Both have good ratings and are quite similar. Flip a coin and rent a car for the snow.

For a non-snow tire, the LTX (formerly M/S2 and previously M/S) Defender is quite good in the snow, due to its exceptional siping. I had the M/S2 on a F150 for 50k miles and they were great in just about anything I could throw its way in Central VA. The next F150 came with Dueler Alenzas, and I couldn't want to get rid of them. They did well in the rain, but anything remotely frozen and they were not confidence inspiring.

The mileage rating/warranty/expectations on the Defender are typically higher too.

Michelin is always the better tire. It doesn't come any better than Michelin. Certainly not Bridgestone.
