It provides various free wheel spin to gain maximum traction based on surface condition.
I read the manual that when you are in 4 low traction control is turned off. I may be totally, wrong, but I got the impression that this feature is more of a graphical interface versus actually giving you additional off road capabilities. Kind of like presets.
No... you don't want to turn your tractional control off. You will defeat ATRAC and actually you will increase your chances to getting stuck. I made that mistake when my GX was new in snow and it simply acted like an old school open diff 4WD.
It really offers features and is not a graphical overlay.
This changes the ATRAC parameters. You will notice throttle response is immediately different. It won't be as aggressive. This behavior alone is something you will not feel on a stock 460 without MTS and in 4L.
I have been slowly reading through the sticky thread for this same topic too, seeing the effort involved. curious, do we choose the sand option for snow? I am more likely to drive in snow than sand.
Thanks again for this information. I have a 14 with variable suspension and DAC but without pre-collision. Would I also need to add a switch or just the control module?
I ordered my MTS and CC parts the other night. Next morning i get an email from the Lexus dealer asking me for my VIN "to make sure i get the correct parts". I swiftly replied "please just ship my parts to me, i know what i need, thank you" 😂
I knew if I'd given them my VIN they'd send me the same parts that are currently on my GX.
So I installed MTS , thanks to the help on this forum and youtube videos. Now I am debating if crawl control button is really necessary. The way I understood CC is that it is a cruise control fro off-road. If I have MTS and I just use my foot on the accelerator, would it not serve the same purpose. In fact I would be able to adjust the speed myself vs the settings on CC. Thanks in advance for your input on this. I did try to search an answer to that but did not find good explanaexplanatio.
Special thanks to our friend veliksam for posting the youtube video that made the MTS install a total breeze in about 40 minutes.

I used CC on a steep rocky downhill where I got tired of riding the brakes. it works, but also kind of annoying with how loud it is. I haven't tried using it yet to climb up hill
I use MTS quite a bit, makes a great difference.
