Default 2nd set of wheels

I’m about to buy a second set of wheels/tires for the GX. Since the 460 does not have a 2nd/reset button, what do you guys with more than one set of wheels do to keep the TPMS light off? Also I read that the system will look for 5 monitors. This is including the spare. I’m sure most folks aren’t going to buy a second set of 5 wheels/sensors to swap out between seasons.

My second set of wheels has their own set of sensors. I just reprogram the GX everytime I swap wheels.

I don't have a matching spare wheel for my second set so the factory spare just stays in its place.

Same here. I have my OEM wheels with newly replaced 5 TPMS and my 2nd set(winter set) have their own TPMS, they are the 18” gunmetal 4Runner limited wheels. I had Direct Tire reprogram each time. I should just buy the Lexus/Toyota OBD Techstream.

Yes my second set has 4 sensors of its own. Good to hear the system will accept 4 sensors. I’ll just have to visit Lexus/Toyota every time I swap.

The vehicle accepts 5 sensor IDs, so if you're planning on just swapping 4 wheel/tires then you'll need to program the factory spare ID in with each swap. TechStream asks for 5 IDs.

I'm curious why people feel like a 2nd set of wheels tires are needed other than having a dedicated offroad setup to swap in

Comes in handy if you have winter tires. No need to swap tires onto rims every year 2x (winter tires on and then off).

Yep. I have a winter set I program in with Techstream.

Looking at owner's manual for 2020 owner's will be able to swap tires without Techstream and even associate foreign TPMS IDs that have never been programmed to vehicle.
