If you have put on front recovery hooks like on mine you may have to install the front mount point on driver side Rad Rubber in a hole further up. Not a big deal but leaves replacement shield a little puckered. Stock ones were screwed down tight and I wasn't about to loosen up the recovery point to install this. I did have to use a mix of fasteners that came with Rad and some from an eBay kit I purchased. Nice quality though and easy to install. It does help to have these tools.
Not sure what part that is missing/torn, but it looks like the thin barrier between the wheel well and the suspension is torn missing in both front wheel wells. I am taking a long trip from TX to North East - wasn't sure if I should get this replaced (maybe it protects from rocks etc?) or maybe it is just for sound deadening.
QUestion 1) What is this thin cover called?; 2) Is it important to replace/fix?
If you are looking for better coverage (and quality) than OEM and don't mind waiting, in about two weeks I am expecting to receive my set of covers from Gear Tech Customs. I'll post up some photos and a short review once they arrive. The owner Cody personally phoned me and we had a pleasant conversation about his company. He is looking to expand his product range officially for GX models. I am not affiliated or receiving any compensation for the endorsement, for the record.
My biggest criticism of the yota liners are that they don't fit flush, especially the thinner tail ends that resemble wrinkled bacon when attached (someone tell me I installed them wrong!). I thought I was going to have issues with the fit, however 15,000+ miles late they are still attached and doing their job, so can't complain.
Are these things important to have? I am at dealership now and the service manager took a look and doesn't really think they are that important to get fixed. I guess the one good thing is that he doesn't try hard to upsell.

mainly for piece of mind, especially if you go through muddy terrain. Prevents dirt getting into engine bay. If you only drive paved roads, not really necessary. But if it was there originally, I would think it serves some purpose!
