Hey all, for those who have testdriven both, which one is quieter on the road (e.g. wind and road noise)? How is the JBL in LC compare to ML in GX?

We both thought the Lexus's were quieter than the LC in terms of wind or road noise which was confirmed by taking the vehicles on the same road at the same speed back to back and using a db app to record interior cabin noise...
you can do the same thing with the 2019's /2020's to see if it's true....

To answer my own question...GX is quieter on the road...esp less road noise. The JBL is more boomy in bass (midbass) than the ML in the GX. JBL is slightly less clear compare to ML. The interior materials is better in the GX.
But the ride comfort is better in the LC.

That said, neither car is really designed for audiophile listening.

Haven't been in an LX in a while but I do know the GX and the LX are quieter than the LC. Lexus puts more padding/insulation in the doors and I've been told different/thicker door and window seals to deaden the road noise. Before I bought my GX I was shopping for an LC and my top pick had all the door and window seals along with the padding inside the doors swapped from the stock toyota ones to the Lexus LX ones. Sadly I never got to test drive it (it was in another town and ended up finding my newer model GX with less mileage and for $8K less).

But, I can honestly say, my GX470 is super quiet and smooth vs my 2020 Rav4. Rav4 is a bunch more zippier though, and much noisier, but about 2x better MPG's.
I just added some KilMat to my GX under the rear carpet (feet and seat area).

Have the 21 GX and 20 LC. Both are very similar of how quiet. I cannot compare ML to JBL as don't have ML on GX, but JBL is very good. As any premium sounds the quality of sound depends on source of sound. Radio sounds just ok. You pop some mp3 and everything is alive. Of course if you compare both as overall trucks, those are completely different. LC is just the best. Pluses of LC I like: not showy and most don't know what you are driving, power, and more power and big plus you can put regular gas in it. As well I had the 16 LC. Resale value on them is unbelievable. As well looks like LC will not be available very soon (discontinued in US). Like the FJ I predict it will be very desirable / holding value as only 3000 a year are sold in US which makes them fairly rare.
