For people looking for the lightest OEM wheel available for our GX.

I prefer the 6 spoke designs. Much easier and quicker to clean.

My non-winter tires are on the 6-spoke liquid graphite.

and winters are on '16 split spoke premiums

I agree the solid 6 spoke are far easier to clean.

It takes me longer to clean my wheels than it takes me to clean the truck. I do use the tunnel car wash so talking about a wipe down afterwards. Every few washes I get my hand on the backside of the wheel through the spokes to wipe it clean. Guessing that it is just me doing that here

I pull mine off once a year and deep clean the back of them.

Nice post Acrad didn't realize all the variation.

I have the 18 inch split 6. With some new, but mediocre tires.

I picked this up recently for easy cleaning of the spokes. I picked up the yellow color (slightly stiffer ) but they do make an automotive version.
No scratches, just keep the rpms somewhere in the middle to low range.

Have heard sporadic reports about the F-Sport wheels having clear coat issues.

surprised to hear that any OEM wheels even have clearcoat. seems that would be limited to DYI or a paint shop.

I assumed OEM wheels would have clear coat. The problem is mentioned here,

I bought my 2011 base with factory chrome 6 spoke wheels. I always assumed the chrome was aftermarket but they seem to be done well. I’d love to know if they are reg chrome coated or the PVD chrome that is more resilient to peeling. I have the 6 spoke hyper silver 4Runner limited 18” wheels for my winter set up. I think the hyper silver and liquid graphite finishes are similar. Finally a 19” factory wheel to choose, thx Acrad- nice write up.

I read it and a few others on the peeling. Maybe it takes too much oven time and cost to OEM powdercoat them.
Mine dont have the orange peel ive seen on some powdercoat parts. I also cant see any clearcoat at the scratches and rash. ill assume mine are painted also.

I refinished my dismounted ES wheels in a day with great results. if out of warranty its a job anyone can do and do it well.
