For $18 up-charge (4.7%) ... go big(er) or go home.

Default Stock Alternator Amperage

I have a 2011 GX460 Base. Does anyone know what the stock alternator amperage rating is? I see two choices when buying on rockauto.com, a 130 amp and a 150 amp. The 150 for some reason is cheaper than the 130, but I'm not sure which one I need to get. Both options I'm looking at are Denso.

A couple threads.. consensus has been 150 was stock for 3-zone HVAC.... I'd go with the 150 if going near stock

Thank you very much! Guess I get the 150A. Fine with me as it's cheaper anyways!

Biggerer is Betterer ... assuming plug-and-play (same electrical connectors and physical fitment).

I guess we'll find out if it's all plug and play. I see the "3 Zone" option when I'm selecting climate options in the car. So I'm assuming that's what they're referring to in the other thread. We'll see.

Nope! No reason not to get the 150A... or the Sequoia 180A.

You don't want to create a mess by spilling all of those extra amps all over the freeway though.
