Done, that was an easy job. It's got a good FF coat on it now.

When I did the entire underside, I hit it with my power-washer, used air to blow the water away, left it sit inside over-nite, hit it with air again, then sprayed on the FF.
Just for the kdss control actuator, took the plate off, sprayed it with Meguair's all purpose cleaner, hit it with a wheel barrel brush, blew it dry, the used a can of FF to coat it.

I need some advice, I already have surface rust on my GX underbody, would anyone suggest to apply some rust converter first, before applying FF?
I did FF (aerosol can, not airless spray) last year for rusty area, I am not sure how much it helped, just my personal experience, it may be related to how I applied.
I found this amazon (
Thanks.

When I get a new GX, I'm planning to do a whole underbody coating job by myself.
I'm going to:
1. lightly sand with 400 grit paper, then
2. apply Eastwood Rust Encapsulator Platinum, let it dry,
3. lightly sand with 400 grit paper again,
4. Spray Weicon Rust Protection 2000 for black finish (This spray provided 2000+ hours of protection under salt water testing)
For inside of the frame, I'm going to spray Eastwood Internal Frame Coating
And for the rotating parts, I will spray LPS3 on a sponge and apply it to parts from there.
Of course, I will avoid spraying anything to parts that get hot.
This is the best method that I was able to come up with after hours and hours of research.
It will take me a long time, but I just want to get it done right when the truck is new.

Back in the day, farmers would oil the underneath of their cars / trucks. I use a product called "Fluid Film" that is Lanolin based and stays on real good. It stops oxidization from continuing to occur by providing a coating. Like WD-40, but adheres much better and much longer

A few days back, I used a Wagner power paint plus (airless, 2200 psi per their spec) to apply FF, the tool is great, a bit heavy, but has enough power and spray nicely. For folks who don't have air compressor, this is a good option, Lowes has it on BF sales for like $50 then.

Has anybody applied rubberized coating to parts of the undercarriage, wheel well maybe? Is it recommended to put something more durable to certain parts or just stick with Fluid Film and re-apply yearly?

Yea, run away from anything rubber based.
