While driving in the highway with speed between 70-80 MPH. GX sudden loss of power. No signal on the dashboard continue running but only 60 MPH. Try take foot on the pedal. Then try again but still engine hesitate. We are driving going to a resort in VA where you climb. Got to our cabin. Now worry about going back, The up and down?
Plan go straight to the nearest dealership to check.
Anyone experienced same it. Pls advice

After it happened, were you able to ever get back to a higher speed than the 60 MPH ?
What about when you came to a stop and then tried to accelerate, did the engine run rough ?
Once you arrived at your destination and shut down the GX, have you tried starting the GX again and does it idle normally ? Have you tried to duplicate your driving style when the first hesitation happened ?

No it’s hard to accelerate, it felt like the engine wants to stays on 2-3 gear. And went you push the pedal you see the rpm needle go to 2-3 .the speed stays at 60. So I decided to just ride it out at that speed worrying it stop at the highway. I manage to drive it for more that 10 mile carefully running 60. Climb up and down engine is good and running until we arrived. Nothing on the dashboard for warning light to warn me. when i stopped the engine idle normal though I did not start it again until now.

Now, doing 70-80 mph would require your gx460 running at 2500-2800 rpm which is NORMAL. A slight tap at the throttle would not do anything and it may feel hesitated.

72 MPH for my GX is 1800 RPMs.
QUESTION....Did you have the cruise on or off during this ??
The reason I ask is if the cruise if OFF and you gently massage the throttle say going up a hill, the transmission will take a lot longer to downshift vs if the cruise is ON. The engine doesn't hesitate, but the MPH decreases rapidly without any change to engine RPM. Then if you just increase throttle pressure, the Transmission will downshift and the RPM increases and MPH will increase.

Has anyone found the root cause to this problem?? My wife has called me me a few times stating this was happening to her car on the highway and I'd love to get to the bottom of it as I am taking a 7 hour drive up to the mountains in this car
