2016 Base LED to HID conversion
I've done some searching and I haven't found anything definitive, but, has anyone converted their 2016 base LED low beams to HID? What parts did you use? Thanks!

Because we just got back from a road trip and the LED lights are pretty terrible compared to my HID's

This is the first time I hear about this. There is no way HID is superior than LED lights.

This is the first time I've ever heard that. My wife and I have compared and my HID's are significantly brighter and illuminate dark roads far better.

Its not a clear cut answer. It depends on the particular setup and housing design.
To the OP what HIDs were you planning on using? Been out the modsphere for a second.

I'm honestly not sure. I have morimoto's in my truck and have liked them so far. Wasn't sure if there was a preferred brand for the GX.

exactly. HID do have more light output, which can but doesnt always result in more on road lighting. thats hugely impacted by the housing, etc.

I agree, I put HID's in my projector housing and it worked our great. I was hoping for the same result with the projectors in the GX.

would either have to swap out the housing for a non-led that fits if available, or need to bake open the housing, change out the tube, lens, etc which is a lot of work.
the gx hid arent that great either. they put out much less light than many others.
a good option, maybe the easiest and cheapest, for more on road lighting is changing the fogs. they way the newer gx has the fogs set up they arent really useful for fog anyways.

Not exactly. There is no scientific proof on what you claim. Do Google search and see the results yourself
