19" OEM Tires
#61
TL;DR: Are the Michelin Defenders noticeably firmer than the factory Dunlops? I'm hoping to find a firmer tire but not something as firm as an all-terrain tire.
Full story:
I bought a '23 Tacoma TRD Off Road Premium and chose the factory upgrade to Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac tires mostly because the truck is going to be my DD and the roads here look like a third world country in some places.
All of that to say... it has sort of made me hate driving my GX and I think it all comes down to tires. The Duratracs are firm and of course the ride quality isn't as smooth, but the Tacoma feels much less ponderous, much more stable, easier to drive, and less "all over the road" than the GX.
Further complication is that I'm trading my 2021 Luxury for a 2023 Luxury today, and it's made me wonder if I should look at a tire swap sooner rather than later. Ideally, I'd like something a bit firmer with more feedback than the OEM Dunlops, though still softer and more fitting for the GX. I like the 19" wheels a lot and do not want to swap down to the 18"s. Are the Michelins noticeably firmer than the factory Dunlops?

Also in the same situation, and there's shockingly little posted across all the GXOR groups related to the 19" wheels. I'm looking at the 255/65/19 Goodyear Wrangler All Terrain Adventure with Kevlar, anyone have any insight if these would fit a stock 2023? I'm ok with a little rub, as these look to be the only all terrain tires for a 19" rim that would remotely come close to fitting. 32.1" diameter, 10" width
The alternative is swapping to the 17" TRD Pro wheels and some bfg ko2s, but I'm concerned I'll have a hard time selling these 19" sport package wheels

Hopefully Michelin will also release them in 265/60-19 (31.52") and 265/65-19 (32.56").
Edit:
Just emailed them through their website link. Maybe if we can get them more emails, they will release even more sizes for the Defender LTX M/S2.
I requested for:
265/60-19 (31.52")
265/65-19 (32.56")
275/60-19 (31.99")

Looks like there are Falken Wildpeaks A/T Trail tires available in 255/60 R19 size. Has anyone tried them on 19" sport wheels? I would really prefer 265+ width size, as I feel like with 25+ offset wheels (which make them more in the inside of the fender) and 255 width size, it wouldn't look as great (I would prefer to have it at least flush with fenders or to stick out lol), although 255 is the OEM size that GX comes with.

Toyo Open Country AT III are also available in 255/60-19 size. Seems most similar to a BFG AT KO (in terms of tread block design, durability, build-quality & tire-rack ratings).
I'd still rather get the (still very off-road capable & durable) Defender LTX M/S2, over the Toyo AT and BFG AT tho... since most of the time will be on paved roads anyways.
Note: Oem size for the 19" = 265/55-19
But yeah... I'd rather get 265 or 275 in sizes. Best to message/request the tire manufacturers directly - Michelin, BFG, Toyo, etc.
