Adventures of (Insert Name Here)
Hi all
Thought that I would say hi (and start getting my post count going). I just got a 2013 GX460 and am excited to get back to the land of Land Cruisers (Prados). I used to have a 1985 FJ60 that I did a diesel swap into and also a 2016 Tacoma, both built for overlanding. After selling both for various reasons, I have a new to me GX! I have been perusing the forums here, at GXOR (at least the non-facebook portion), and my old stomping grounds of IH8MUD (username: Dazed) and can already see this is an excellent community!
I am not sure how I will use this thread yet, but probably to document desires, changes, etc.
See you on the road and trails.

I mean, come on! I have had it less than 24 hours. I did make the decision that I wouldn't put my tool kit in it full time.....but my binoculars are in it....and flashlight. And my recovery gear is sitting lonely in the garage.
In all seriousness, I do want this to be a relatively light build. Lift it, 33ish tires, recovery points but that might be it. I'm not even sure about bumpers on this one.

Wait, @tecman, it says that you're from GA. I think that you're friends with my buddy Scott S. He has mentioned your name before. He has a built 80 series that spends most of its time out west.

I know nothing. *beer* wait, there seems to be no beer emoji. Oh man.
Alright, I am reading through the Service Guide, since the FSM is like 9000 pages long. What in the world is the Active Height Control System Fluid that is supposed to be changed out at 60k miles. I have a premium trim GX and am pretty sure that I have the active height control. See this post: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/gx-...rol-fluid.html
Also, the change to oil changes every 10k miles is pretty cool. But the manual says replace diff fluid every 15k miles, the t-case fluid every 30k miles, and the transmission fluid every 60k miles if you are going offroad or pulling a trailer. That seems excessive. My truck is at 79k miles but was a road only vehicle, so I am thinking that changing all fluids between now and 90k miles is a solid thing to keep it running tiptop.
