Default Would you buy a GX460 that was L-Certified after accident??

I am looking at a 1-owner 2014 GX460 that was L-Certified after an accident. I generally steer away from anything without a clean Carfax, but this one was L-Certified after the accident.
  • 2014 GX460 Luxury - $19,750
  • 116K miles
  • 1 owner
  • New Michelin Tires
  • Dates:
    • 3/2014 - Purchase
    • 2/2017 - Accident (Left rear, involved other vehicle, airbags did not deploy)
    • 3/2017 - L/Certified by dealer & re-sold to original leaser (I take this as a good sign...the original leaser didn't want to get out of it)
    • 2/2020 - Traded in

Thoughts?

Unless you knew the extent of the damage and were comfortable with that I would stay away. I know not everyone will agree with me, but I would never consider a vehicle that has been in an accident or had the appearance of any bodywork (accident or otherwise) - just my opinion/feelings though.

It was L-certified in 2017, but not now when you buy it in 2020. Unless it's an absolute bargain, I'd pass.

If you really want it, have a body shop inspect the repair. If there are any problems, they should be visible by now (rush/water retention, etc). Most reputable body places have lifetime warranty for the ORIGINAL owner. So get all issues fixed before purchase.

But I'd pass unless it's a bargain.

Agreed with all of the above. I'm going to pass.

There are enough other 1 owner options locally to me and I see the used market continuing to grow as people need cash during the recession.
