Default "New to Me" 2017 GX460

Hey folks!

Just picked up a 'new' 2017 GX460. Felt like it was a good time to take the plunge as dealers are more willing to negotiate in the current climate.

Detail below:

1. Year and package - 2017 Premium
3. Color or the exterior and interior - Silver Lining /Ecru
2. Navigation or no navigation / Mark Levinson - Nav with 'Premium' Audio
4. Option Packages or options (RSES, park assist, etc) - BSM/Park Assist/Cross traffic

The truck is for my wife (I have a 2015 GS350 F-Sport) and it is replacing a 2009 GX470 (owned since new with 150K).

Just ordered the complete Liner Set (3 rows plus 2 piece cargo) for $210 plus tax/shipping from Bell Lexus in Scottsdale.

Happy to be here! The truck is nearly spotless with 25K!

Best

joe

When I was looking I also wanted to avoid vehicles that were in Houston/south TX, NYC, Louisiana that could have gotten water damage after the hurricanes and flooding...there are lots of people whose car get flooded cars and don't report it (so it won't show up on carafe). I got a single owner truck from UT who traded it in on a new Range Rover (in Glenwood springs, CO).

Yep - 25K miles. Final purchase price was $33,000.00 (plus tax/tag/title/docs). Original ask was $38,500. Car has had a prior accident on right rear but shop that did work is top notch and work looks spot on! I have access to Manheim Auction sight for dealers and pricing was excellent (below MMR and well below 'buy it now' pricing). Car has been in Atlanta (where I live) since new so ZERO salt/snow!

I actually found the prior owner's info in glove box and called her. She traded it for a new LR Disco Sport.

Pretty pumped!!

Sounds like you got a great deal. I grew up in Grant Park by the zoo. Congratulations.

Good deal. Was it a CPO?

An auction vehicle would not be a CPO.

No CPO but not auction. It was taken in trade at Land Rover/Jaguar of Buckhead. I used the auction as a 'resource' to validate sales price and trade value. Probably could have gotten a bit more in a private sale but GA lets you offset sales tax (6.6%) with trade value.

Overall it was a good deal. I actually feel bad for car dealers right now. not alot of customer traffic except for service!

Understand the current situation put lots of pressures on many businesses. However, car dealer’s major profit incomes are actually from SERVICES, not car sales.

I wonder what they gave her for the trade? Wholesale / black book is such a scam. Probably 28k at most. Used car sales and service as mentioned is the most profitable for dealers.

yeah, you can get more money if you do a private sale but many are willing to take the hit with trading it in for convenience. Got to figure the service department at dealers are taking a hit with people skipping scheduled maintenance.

Yes, I am sure they are hurting and laying off many employees. I am a fan of doing maintenance myself. My Audi A8L oil change at the dealership would be close to $200. I do it myself for $60 and use better quality oil.

Had my car in for service at a local dealer last week and the tech told me that all but 3 of the techs had been laid off
