With that low mileage I would look for some maintenance done on time rather than miles.
Some of the drive train fluids could be original.
Also, heads up, the RX and GX get vastly different fuel economy...

fully aware of the fuel economy difference. We're willing to live with it as neither of us will be commuting with it, just dropping kids off daycare, shopping trips and the drive to the beach

Private party - 2011 GX460 w/ HID, Power folding mirrors, Nav, no air suspension, 88K miles - 3 Owners, 3 accidents but the repairs superficially look good. $23K needs new tires and brakes, cruise control stalk is broken upon first test drive. if pre purchase inspection checks out (no frame damage, no rust), think i can offer $20K?

I mean...there's nothing wrong with offering $20k. The worst that will happen is the seller will turn you down.
A cursory search of cars.com however shows that the cheapest sub-100K mile 2011 for sale right now is $24k, so $20k would be a substantial discount on top of that.

Looking to get a family vehicle for a family of 4 with the occasional in law riding in the third row to replace our beloved 07 RX.
Car has 88000 miles, has had 3 owners, i would be the 4th. it has HID headlights, parking sensors, side folding mirrors, nav, no air suspension Each owner has been in an accident according to carfax, the second one being "Moderate damage, had to be towed, airbags did not deploy". The current owner said his car was side swiped and had to get his front bumper, , headlight and quarter panel replaced. When i inspected it, they all looked like OEM lexus parts. Tires and brakes are worn but i can fix those.
When i drove it, the car drove very well, and it's clean inside. I plan on taking it to a local toyota dealership to do a PPI. I told them i want them to look for rust and any frame damage from the accidents. Is there anything else i should look for in this car before making an offer? I know used cars are going fast. This guy seems very busy and i'm the first person to look at it.
Thanks!

3 previous owners worries me a bit. Feels like maintenance was pushed to each next owner.

Service history and current mechanical condition matter the most. Mileage isn’t really much of a concern. Check out the VIN on the Lexus drivers site. Is it local? Can you have it examined professionally and or put up on a lift to look underneath?

I'm definitely anticipating doing the brakes, tires and most fluids as soon as i get the car.

It's about 10 miles away from me. I'm scheduling to have a pre purchase inspection conducted at a toyota dealership's repair shop , which is about 2 miles from the seller. The lexus dealership is about 40 minutes away unfortunately. Service history is pretty bare. Carfax only reports "Vehicle serviced". with that said, this current owner has only had it serviced at a Lexus dealership. It's been driven 8000 miles in the last 3 years. I want them to focus on the vehicle's underbody and make sure there's no rust or bent frame. as i said it's been in 3 accidents.
I'm definitely anticipating doing the brakes, tires and most fluids as soon as i get the car.

New GX460 owner here. Crazy used market right now. Had a 2014 4Runner Limited 4x4 that I bought new 7 years ago for $41k. Now after 7 years, many off-road trips and 77,000 miles I was offered $31k for it. Too good of a deal to pass on.
I bought a 2016 GX460 Premium with only 27,000 miles on it for $41.5k. A local lease trade in that you can tell has never been anything but a mall crawler. Carfax showed maintenance every 5k miles on the dot at the dealership. There were other 2018-2019 GXs around town but all seemed to have harsher wear and tear on them. And all had more miles on them than this one.
The way I see it I spent $11k to upgrade from a 4Runner to a Lexus, 2 year newer model and 50k fewer miles!

Hey guys just purchased a 2015 GX460 Premium White/Black for $30k with 80k miles on it. I've had one of these before and was originally looking for a 2017-2019 lower mile possible CPO one, but they were either priced so high because of the market or just beat up. I was also looking for a clean non accident, one owner car being sold only at Lexus, don't trust all these other stealerships. Mileage was a little higher than I wanted, but was priced about $10k less than what I was originally looking for... so more money for mods lol. Bonus was that this vehicle had an extensive service history with every little thing taken care of at Lexus only. Also, was in absolutely mint condition, ceramic coated in and out. Car also had a brand new tires, rotors, pads, and a fresh oil change. Most of the lower mileage cars I saw were so beat up both outside and inside, I didn't mind getting an older higher mileage vehicle with better wear and tear on it.

Possibly buying GX 460 in '13 to '15 range. What issues should concern me?
I've read a little about cam tower leaks and timing cover issues.
Any thoughts on buying in that age range?
