3rd gen releasing soon, as 2024. May want to wait.

2022 was the latest upgrade to the infotainment.

Is it true that the media console in the 2014 was the first year to receive the more standard toyota looking media console, or was it 2013? I believe 202x's also received an upgrade.
2010 to 2013: 8” touch screen with HDD based navigation
2014 to 2021: 8” touch screen with microSD based navigation
2022 to 2023: 10” touch screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, online based navigation
2024 will be completely redesigned GX

Hopefully Lexus doesn’t hose it up like they did on the new LX. With the two separate screens

I have a 2022 but I did not buy it for the infotainment, I bought it because they are replacing the V8.

Yeah, I am going to be a bit more patient here and wait for the atomic silver sports package that I wanted and be more flexible with the interior color selection. If not, odds are it will take much longer to find the exact int/ext color combo i wanted.

I am guessing that its been about 6 months that the 2023 GX started production. Anyone know what month do they stop production before they retool everything for the next year's model?

to each his own, woodleathr. i wouldn't buy a '22 or '23 because of the center console revisions. i hate the tacked on afterthought looking screen sticking out of the top.

I must say they until the 2022 change of wasn’t really interested in the GX after test driving a 2019 right before the 2022 was announce and was going to get another 4Runner instead. I don’t demand all of the bells and whistles that many vehicles have nor do I want them, however, the GX was in desperate need of some modernization.

The 2022 GX is about perfection to me personally.

... Agree ... amazing how connectivity these days IS the criteria. It's a vehicle ... not an entertainment center. My attitude ... watch the road and stop F'ing around with being "connected" ... a complete distraction and a danger to society.

My take ... insurance companies have missed a major opportunity ... to up-charge insurance premiums based on connectivity features. Premiums historically have been elevated for high-performance vehicles ... but at least most of those drivers are engaged and paying attention to what is happening around them ... they purchased their vehicle for the driving experience.

I now have truck horns installed ... to bust connected drivers out of their stupor ... to wake them up before they inflict their connected lifestyle on innocent drivers.

The infomat in our 2019 is a complete joke, and it was since we bought it as anyone on this site knows... That said, it's not why we bought the GX, we bought it because I didn't want to spend 40k more for a Land Cruiser 200 with an even worse Infomat we love ours the way it is.. I would not mind a 2023 though with the updated system though.

The fact is that Lexus is considered a "Luxury" brand so having an infotainment system from 2010 just isn't acceptable to most people spending $60K+ on a brand new vehicle in this decade when you can get a $20K Kia with better technology. Most buyers of the GX don't care about it's off-road capabilities.

I think the massage chairs and stuff like that is just stupid in a vehicle, however, some people feel it's very important and it's their money to spend on a vehicle to meet their wants/needs.

The thing that made me really not want a GX prior to 2022 was the fact that there weren't any physical controls to adjust the climate control....that was just a stupid decision on the part of Lexus and should never have happened.

To your last point ... agree ... give me climate control buttons and ***** ... but now buried layers down in a menu system ... where making a change at 60 MPH is dangerous. Again ... "tech" ... and not very smart ... especially the Japanese ... who as a society are logical and highly organized ... but are absolutely clueless when it comes to designing software interface / menu systems.

Not sure what are you referring to, the GXs since day one, always have the physical Climate control buttons and physical temp adjust controls.
