The GX has stuck to its roots from way back in 2003. Though the exterior styling has changed, the fundamentals of rugged, all-road capability, remains. Hope the next gen will continue with the same principles of body on frame, and a solid/live rear axle.
Really am not a fan of the 2020 grills, but I wanted as new a model as I could get for an affordable price, and my 2017 was the one. While it still has the spindle grill styling, it's not as aggressive as the newer models. The split in the middle of it makes it more tolerable for me.

Agree ... the split softens what is an otherwise evil looking grille ... the 2020 looks like it wants to swallow up small children, especially the sport version. Yes, Lexus needed to get away from the pre-spindle "soccer mom" front-end design, but the pendulum swung way too far in the opposite direction for my taste. The horizontal break in the above picture is a good balance.
