Default New Owner, A Few Questions

I am the new owner of a 2010 GX460 Base model. I bought it from an auto auction, I know why they take them to auctions instead of retailing. That said, I will live with what I got.

If you folks could help me with a few issues, I would appreciate it.

1) The running board lights do not come on. Either side. I took one bulb out tonight; it appears to be good. I did not have time to put current to it to test it. Again, none of the under-car lights work, so I am guessing it is not the bulbs. I there anything besides the fuse to check.

2) When I was looking for GX’s, I showed the Lexus tech the picture of an underside that had rust. I did not think it was too bad for a snow area vehicle, but they scared me about the valve for the leveling rusting out and costing an “insane” amount of money to fix. Where is this valve / control located? Can I tell anything by looking at it myself?

Thanks for the help,

Jaaydee

1) No idea, I'd start with the fuse. If the fuse is good... plug in a known good light to each of the 4 locations. could be all 4 bulbs (they are 10 years old). good luck
2) The KDSS actuator is attached to drive side frame rail. Lie on the ground and look up on the outboard side of the frame rail about half way back... you'll see a protective covering/ skid plate attached to the frame rail with 2 bolts... remove the covering an the actuator with butterfly valves will be right there.
You can see it in the picture below on the very left side... the kdss lines all run to it.

The underside lights are extremely dim so maybe double check at night with no lights nearby

Thanks for the reply's. I got underneath last night, I unplugged the wire and put a battery charger to it. The front light came on, the back one didn't. I took it out, ( Lexus didn't use any extra wire to those bulbs ), the rear bulb was corroded. So I am guessing it is a fuse. The question is, which fuse? I look at the fuse covers, but I couldn't tell by that. I will look in the service manuals on here.

I think I found the P/N It was listed as 90075-60059 in another thread on this forum. But after digging around, I found 90075-60005 which is a right angle.

you could always call your dealer to confirm... they're not exactly busy right now... and I'm sure they'd be happy to give you or confirm the part number.
