Default Skid plate bolts

As I change the oil filter on my '11, I see that I am missing several (OEM) skid plate bolts... does anyone have the specs on how/what to order? (The 12MM one holding the front edge, missing 2 of 3)

Check my log for the specs on the full length gas tank skid plates bolts, same size I believe.

Flange Bolt: M8 x 1.25 x 25mm (8mm Diameter / 1.25 Thread Pitch / 25mm Length) ... Strength Grade 8.8 works just fine for this application.

M8 bolts come with either a 12mm Hex Head or 13mm Hex Head ... either will work.

Unfortunately, the frequent theme on Toyota / Lexus Forums is that many service "technicians" either forget to reinstall all of the skid-plate bolts ... or get happy with an impact wrench, and way over-tighten to where removal is difficult ... assuming they have not sheared the bolts off in the frame. For those who reside in rust prone areas of the country, anti-seize compound on these bolts is a good practice.

Hi! Could you help me with some info? I bought some new bolts from Lexus for the skid plates and when i tried to screw them 2 of the new bolts kept spinning. What should i do? Rethread the inside thread? Or retap with new thread? By doing this would i be able to use the oem bolts or i would have to go up in size? If yes on size up then what size bolts would be a good fit? And when i rethread the inside thread or retap them what size tap should i use? Thanks

I’m bringing it back to life

What’s the correct torque value for the skid plate bolts? I want to put anti-seize on the bolts on my new GX.

ETA: I swear I looked but couldn’t find it but I looked again and it’s here I believe.
