Lightbulb 2021 GX 460 Discussion

[2021]

Info from brochure:

• Looks like you can get ML and powered 3rd row on a Premium now with Premium Plus
• ML shows as standalone for Premium in brochure but not on the Lexus build wizard online

• Heated Steering wheel available on Premium
• Fire Agate Pearl gone
• 2020 Premium 18" is now optional on 2021 Premium. Base and Premium share the same standard rim in 2021
• Probably just a typo but doesn't show heated steering wheel on Luxury in brochure
• 2020 Premium 18" wheel is now optional on 2021 Premium. Base and Premium share the same standard rim in 2021.
• Dual-screen DVD Rear-Seat Entertainment System (RSES) is gone as an option
• In disclosures - "3. Starfire Pearl available for an additional charge."
Acoustic front side glass on all models

You can grab them off the Lexus documentation site if you change the URL for download.

2021 Owner's Manual

2021 Quick Guide

I haven't had a chance to look through guides.
I am not an expert, so this may not be relevant, but not sure if it is Kosher to alter the URL for material that is not meant to be public (of course, it might be totally fine).

CL Management is ok with this thread.

I notice this web search in nav. I don't see that in 2020 manual.

Appears to be a change in RCTA from 2020 - #3 below

^the MY20 manual up on the driver hub has the websearch.

The RCTA has been updated to offer a more visual indicator/direction of the obstacle. Hoping its just a simple software update for my20s.

Default 2021 GX Rumors?

Any rumors swirling on changes for 2021? I'd be great if they put out an off roading package!

Rumor I heard was twin-turbo V8, 25mpg, auto folding side mirrors upon locking like every other nice Lexus, one-touch blinker flash, and Apple CarPlay. Oh sorry, that's my wish list!

Here is one surprise for you: For 2020 GX, the Lane change auto flash is actually a standard feature now. However for whatever the reason, it was default set as “Off” (disabled) under Techstream. You can ask dealer to enable it. I am sure it will be a standard function for 2021 as well. You can enable it with either 3 flashes or 5 flashes.

Honestly with almost 20 years of non significant changes... might as well not change anything and make this the wrangler of Lexus.

If you intend to offroad, I`d suggest getting into a MY14-19. Cheaper to mod (MTS/Crawl capable with simple mods) and equally reliable.

agreed and you won't feel as bad banging a 25-50k SUV around the trails as you would a 70k suv... If you're buying it to offroad and beat it up, buy used for sure.

Or save even more money with better approach angles and get a '10-13.

So this little trinket just popped up.
https://www.caradvice.com.au/863797/...t-manual-axed/

If the MY21 Prado is supposed to get Apple Carplay, Android Auto, and a power boost....oh boy should we be looking forward to a factory first GX460 with CarPlay and Android Auto (i dont think the power boost is happening since well no diesels).

No CD player would be the sacrifice.

PS forgot to add something on the safety end as well:The autonomous emergency braking system introduced on automatic models two years ago will gain pedestrian detection at night and cyclist detection during the day, while “brake to steer” lane-keeping technology, and speed sign recognition will be added to the safety suite.
