Did you replace the two shafts with OEM Lexus parts? I see on eBay there are a number of sellers with these parts at a fraction of the OEM prices. I am certain they are not OEM parts.

For reference, Lexus part numbers:

Lower Shaft 45203-60181
Intermediate Shaft 45220-60280

Yes both upper and lower shafts replaced with the originals purchased directly from Lexus dealer. But its of no use, this was suggested by one garage and I thought let this get over with the originals even though considering the higher price. Now the remaining parts to be replaced are steering rack and complete steering mechanism as mentioned in your earlier post, which is too expensive. Not sure what to do with this, but as said, this is not causing a huge problem to me and I trying to convince me to live with this.

I too have a clunking sound from the steering column when on rough roads, which I am on frequently. It does not instill confidence in my Lexus quality. Hopefully this is nothing more than an irritating sound coming from inside.
