I'll be installing some BD LP9s this Monday on the GX. LP9s have built in marker lights I want to wire to the headlight running lights. I want to wire the lights themselves into my high beams so I can operate them off the steering wheel high beam switch like factory.
After looking at the lights they are a lot more involved than my old FJ Cruiser and I don't want to mess anything up. Does anyone know the wires I should be tapping into? I got the wiring schematic off IH8mud but can't make heads or tails of it. Thanks for any help with this.
Page 2 of the link is slightly better but I honestly haven't looked at electrical schematics in 15 years so it's like reading a foreign language now. When I did my FJ it was like "hit the green w/ black stripe for the marker light and the larger blue on for the high beam switch." This schematic has computers and stuff on it lol. I'm just going to start probing with a test light. I'll post the wire colors and placement when I'm done for the next guy. I really appreciate the links though.
This PDF in conjunction of what I posted on Mud should illustrate everything you need.
Page 7 shows what the 6 and 8 pin terminal look like.
tap into the 8 pin connector (Terminal 4 gray wire) for the DRL. Looking from the back (wire) side of the plug 4 is top left For the high beams, tap into the 6 pin connector terminal 6 (Pass side is Green/Black, drivers side is black). Looking from the wire side of the plug 6 is bottom left. Double check with a test light or multi-meter.
