2017 Captain's Chairs
Even on my '12 I use space in front of second road for storage when I have all seats down.
On the '17 with captains.... is the space between seats still usable for some cargo? I assume it extends to the floor or is there hardware in the way?
EDIT: I see space in front of seats is there.. curious of space between seats.

Captain Chairs Mandatory
When did Lexus make captain chairs mandatory on the luxury GX? I could have sworn I checked a few times after the 17's came out and I had a choice,

It's apparently a change for 2017 since the 2016 GX brochure show different 2nd row seats: http://www.lexus.com/documents/broch...X-Brochure.pdf

Lexus uses different build configurations in various areas of the country.
Dealers provide input as to what they think will sell and the regions then
get high, low and medium priced standardized built units. It is possible to
get variations by placing a Special Order (within obvious constraints) but
it takes longer. Lexus Option code "PM" is Premium with Bench Seat,
code "PQ" is Premium with Capt. Chairs and "PY" is Sport with Capt.'s.

Unfortunately it appears you can't get bench on Luxury unless you went CPO on a '16...but this doesn't sound like an option since it sounds like you are looking for a new '17. Given a choice myself I would want a bench on second row.

Undoubtedly one could make this happen but it would be an expensive mod.....
