Default Why Does a 4runner Have Such Higher Resale?

I’m in that weird position where I want the hybrid of both. I get that the gx is the way to go but once you also mod it to get the hybrid you kill even more of its resale value whereas 4runner keeps it strong the whole way.

why?

I plan on keeping either for 200k milked but u never know what curveball life throws at ya with my soon to be wife. What we nee$is Lexus to really offercthat GXOR one lol

GX 460 is luxury off-roader and hence as long as we keep the luxury Intact it has more value than forerunner. My 2 cents

4runner sold more with a much bigger following and many times more specialized parts in the aftermarket. Plus it is almost the perfect size for overlanding and dead reliable.

Buy a used GX that still has at least 1year'ish factory power train warranty remaining.
Best value in my opinion for those cross shopping a 4Runner and GX. There's your hybrid compromise... having owned both, the GX is far and away I higher quality vehicle in almost all aspects than the 4Runner.

It seems that luxury cars often depreciate quicker than the non-luxury counterparts. Having a 2011 4Runner, I looked into a newer Limited model but was sold with the GX. I drove a limited a family friend has and while it was nicer than my 2011, the GX really sold me in every aspect besides the ground clearance (which can be fixed).

Or, if you can get a good deal, get a later year CPO - that will give you 2 full years with unlimited miles to discover any issues your particular truck might have. If it doesn't show up in 2 years, it is unlikely that the previous owner really screwed anything up for you.
