Popping Sound When Turning
I have a 2018 GX with about 35,000 miles on it. When I turn the wheels close to the locked position at slow speed like when going into my driveway, I hear a loud pop sound when I hit the incline into my driveway. I can feel it when I have my foot on a pedal.
I have heard the sound when suddenly hitting the brakes at a very slow speed or when taking my foot off the brake and moving forward from a stop.
I hear it most of the time backing out of the garage or pulling into it after it has been parked on the driveway.
I was thinking it could be the skid plate, but it is the stock plate. The CV joints feel firm when I try and move them with my hand--there is no play in them.
Of course the dealership "can't replicate the problem." I know that noises are very hard to diagnose especially anything with suspension, but does anyone have any ideas?

I had a similar sound, was a blown shock. Mine was obviously leaking tho.

Yes stock tires and wheels.
When I did my 30k service, I looked for spots to grease, but I think for 2018+ they have sealed joints now, and I didn't see any zerk fittings.
I haven't seen any evidence of that on mine yet. Wouldn't the vehicle sag a little if that was the case?
I would like to upgrade the suspension in it, but I don't really want to give it much of a lift. I looked at OME, but it's a 2" lift. It's the wife's car, so the suspension upgrade for me would be just to improve overall drivability. Mine does not have air suspension or AVS.

I haven't heard that about the driveshaft zerks on '18+. There should be 6 of them. I will double check part numbers though.

They are often hard to see if front/rear driveshaft orientation isn't correct.
EDIT: I notice Philly01 at end of thread above has a '19 and they were greasing their zerks.

You are right on the fittings. I poked my head under the loaner car (2020 GX), and they are there, so they should be there on the 2018. It's my Tundra that has sealed joints.

Well got her back today, so we shall see what happens. Of course they couldn’t replicate it, but the SA mentioned the tech tightening everything up front. I did get them to grease the driveshafts. They were going to charge me a very minimal amount, which I agreed to, but then did it for free.
My wife had complained about play/loose steering in the front while driving, but said it was firmer today. If it pops again, I’ll jack the front up and check the wheels for play.
