Question About to Pull The Trigger on a Used 2016 GX

Hi Folks ...

Have been thinking about buying a GX to replace my Audi Allroad that comes off lease in about 5 months. And while I thought a new GX would be the way to go, I’ve been looking around and I spotted a used 2016 GX with only 23,000 miles. It appears to be the Premium model, has a clean Carfax Report and is L/Certified. Asking price is right at $39,000. Is there anything I should be wary of with the 2016? What are you guys getting for tire and brake wear? I used to own a 4Runner many years ago, and enjoyed that. And with our family of two adults and 2 German Shepards ... I’m thinking that this will be a more comfortable and spacious ride than the Allroad. Decisions, decisions.

This is my standard checklist I send everyone to look for used 460s. Some of this isn't applicable as you will have L/Certified warranty.

Defintiely test drive a vehicle thoroughly. I think there is a few recalls with the 2016.

Another thing to consider is you can get a brand new 2020 Premium right now for $49k after incentives and before tax. Thats $10k extra but you will get 4 years newer and refreshed styling and more standard features. If those matter to you. But you have 2 dogs so buying used might make more sense. Just throwing it out there

Check the gaps on the front bumper.cover. Something inside breaks and they come loose. Still dealing with that on mine (the dealer was supposed to fix and didn't).

I think '16 and '20 have different standard features. The 2016 Prem will have Leather interior vs Nulux for the 2020, and the '16 will have the power folding side mirrors but the base and Prem 2020 won't. But, the '16 won't have the safety bundle or the newer grill. But along with everyone else, test drive it. Plus if you are willing to have a truck with more miles (closer to 60k) on it, you might be able to get closer to $30k for '14/'15 L/Cert (you could always pay a few more grand to extend the L/Cert warranty if you were concerned -would still prob be a few grand cheaper than the '16).
