Default Am I missing the hitch?

I can be a total idiot when it comes to cars, so forgive my question.

When you look at the back of my car it is missing the receiver where the hitch mount and ball would go.

What I want to know is am I simply missing the receiver which would be this part?

Or am I missing the entire assembly such as this:

Here are the pictures of my car:

missing the receiver it looks like. Are you sure it's not in the side compartment with the jack maybe?

First one is an aftermarket rated at 5K lbs and the second one is a factory Class IV rated at the full 6500 lbs.

Do you intend to haul any heavy trailers?

As Acrad pointed out those are two different options.

If you’re towing, definitely get the OEM option for maximum capability.

If you’re carrying bikes, storage racks or light utility trailers, get the first option. It’s also a lot easier to install and about $2-300 less.

I eventually want to get a light travel trailer. But yeah I want the highest load possible.

Do I need the entire assembly from Lexus, or is there just a part of it missing?

You'll need the entire piece from lexus. Currently you have the wiring which all 460s come with. I believe the tow hook in your picture is removed and discarded after installing the new receiver.

My picks on travel trailers;

1. NüCamp TAB CS-S (minimum, "2,105 dry weight").
2. Lance 1985 (maximum, "4,245 dry weight").

I just watched a 30min video on that lance. Wow, thats perfect. lol.
Now I know what I'm saving for. That dry weight is pushing it a little though.

Yea, thinking of pulling that Lance around, even in the "Florida Flats", I would want the tranny cooler, weight distributing/sway control hitch and obligatory brake controller. I'd probably only use the TAB for the occasional trips to Bahia Honda State park, Cape Canaveral, and off-road meets around the southern states.

For the amount of use, I'm probably better off renting a TT as needed and throwing the purchase money at the tow vehicle in upgrades/maintenance/accessories.
