Default Audio Off on 2011 GX460

Audio Off in my 2011 GX460. Checked fuses, no bad ones. Have tried pressing mode button on steering wheel and also pressing power/volume button for 25 secs. Display just says "Audio Off." Not sure where amplifier is located. Tboughts?

Have you turned the power/volume **** on the radio clockwise? It may have been turned counter clockwise where there is no audio. Just a thought.

Good thought. Checked but that didn't help. Maybe it's a connect to the Amp which is a bit hard for me to get to. Biting the bullet and going to dealer tomorrow.

Disconnect the battery for 15 mins, which will reset everything, then try.

Unfortunately disconnecting the battery for a reset didn't help. Also tried voice command of launch audio and audio on with no results. No indication voice was working at all. Pretty much out of answers. Must be something haywire in heads up unit.

You have a heads up unit? This was not available so perhaps misspoke or I am missing something. My understanding is the “heads up” shows information on the windshield?

No. My bad. You are correct. Just have the dash display. The dealer I talked to today called it a head unit.

Ahh, thanks for clarifying. Some people post issues after they’ve installed aftermarket products so I was just checking.

Does your Nav function normally?

Looks like you have a malfunction head unit now, @Acrad may have some information about possible third party that do repair for GX head unit. Lexus only replace this and it is very expensive if outside warranty.

Keep us posted. I would think checking EBay for a used part would be my first choice. Try plugging your phone in aux and play music, using the volume button on the phone on max. I’m sure you tried everything and now I’m just reaching. Acrad may be researching it, we need to alert him like a Batman light signal in the sky
