Oil Dipstick Level

Okay, I checked the oil level after dealer changed oil just in case, and the dipstick showed at least an inch above the high mark. I checked an hour after vehicle sat as well as the next morning.
Just yesterday, I had the dealer change the oil with my supplied oil and filter. I let the vehicle sit over night and checked the oil. It is still showing the level as well above the high mark on the dipstick. Is this normal or am I missing something? The motor is not smoking at all and drove fine for the hour drive from the dealer.
Oil checked while vehicle on level garage floor.

They probably didn’t drain it all the way and put the bolt back on the pan too soon.
I noticed that when it started to trickle, you can get about 1/2 quart more if you keep letting it go for a while more.

What kind of sorcery does this tech possess? Take it back and let them siphon off some oil, or if you want grab a mityvac and DIY.

OP did mention a one hour drive back from the dealer.

Some oil returning to the oil pan drains down the dipstick, easily making the level look over filled. On these engines, check the oil by wiping the dipstick, then quickly insert it and pull it right back out. You also need it parked on a fairly level surface, it makes a real difference in the observed oil level.

I checked it everyway possible. Always on level surface in my garage, an hour after driving, the next morning cold, etc. It is always the same. Going to pick up stuff to drain today.
Unreal and annoying as heck.

Yes, def going to go that route. For now I just picked up a large syringe and small clear hose from Tractor Supply. I also picked up a container with markings to measure how much I take out to get it to the correct level.

Curious if you've supplied it in quarts, or rather the big jugs? We all know they're 5qt, but even occasionally my mind just goes "gallons" because ...it's a jug...? dunno, maybe from growing up drinking milk.
That said, had a dear friend who's a master Toyota tech even make that mistake with some super fancy RLI Biosyn stuff... I'd otherwise have had just enough for two OCI's so was pretty miffed since it's mail order only and shipping is pricey.
TLDR; wonder if they put in 10 quarts thinking it was 8...

I supplied them with one (5) quart container and 3 (1) quart containers. When it is due next I will change the oil myself and install the fumoto valve.
Still boggles my mind that they would give it back to me overfilled, not once but twice.
