It doesn't look good to me. What do you guys think?

Engine compartment looks very clean ... at least in the picture ... so this looks like someone sprayed the battery terminal and ground point to the body with an anti-corrosion agent that contains zinc which explains the red colorization ... so nothing concerning here. I would just clean this stuff off of all surfaces and then spray the Battery Terminal and Ground Connection with WD-40 or even better ACF-50. Remove the substance in question with Rubbing Alcohol and a terry cloth rag.

 

It'll just wipe off. I'd leave it on the terminals but wipe it off the body ground contact.
