Stuck in a bog for 30 min
#17
That's good to know. I avoided a huge swamp/bog that was past diff deep last week because I was worried about damaging the diff/tc/tranny. I think one of my projects this winter will be to re-route the diff breather... although I have been reading that they are a one-way breather... anyone have insight on this?

I am fairly positive it is a one way valve but the parts for breather extension are definitely two way. I still have them set aside for a future install.
No personal experience but from what I gather reading other reports elsewhere:
• One way valve has potential to get blocked by debris. - This ends up potentially blowing out axle seals as pressure has to go somewhere
• One way valve has potential to be held open by debris - This has potential to let water in
Perhaps it is more or less caused by what you are driving in?
Speculation: Traversing clear mountain creeks/rivers not an issue... while treading mud and who knows what one can have issues
