Yes, I do have it in "auto" position.

not sure if I missed something here. If your switch is in auto position, then the indicator will be off during the day, that is the normal status. It only comes on with the headlight. In auto situation, it will be on by night (or low lighting situation, such as inside garage). If you manually turned on headlights during the day, then you will see the indicator light.

Indicator letting you know your headlight is on. - Nothing wrong with the lights


Yellow - Tire Pressure indicating low tire pressure. check spare.

Btw, my truck is a 2012 base model...
Generally speaking the color of an indicator light or icon informs as well. Blue and Green = it’s okay, just informative status, Amber = caution, something important to be aware of. Red = something is wrong. Stop and check/correct.

There are a lot of vehicles that have their Instrument Cluster/Dash that always is illumined day or night. Sometimes people think that the Dash is lit up, that means my headlights must be on as well. That is why the they have that indicator on newer cars. I seen plenty people have fully lit Instrument Cluster/Dash running only their DRLs thinking their headlights were on and no action taken to check or turn them on sometimes.
