I did my best to search through the previous threads but could not find any info on what i'm after so here I am.
I'm on the hunt to replace my OEM muffler for an aftermarket one with a little more noise without it getting too loud and obnoxious (with the lacklustre fuel economy, i want to at least HEAR where my gas money is going).
I have narrowed it down to either the Flowmaster 50 Series Delta Flow or the Flowmaster Super 50 but I cannot find information on what style i would need, besides knowing it would be a 2.5" inlet/outlet. Can anyone who has gone ahead with an aftermarket exhaust/muffler let me know what size I would need and if the inlet/outlet needs to be inline or offset?

IMHO ... FlowMaster, MagnaFlow, Etc are great on American V8's but absolutely do not belong on a Lexus or any foreign vehicle for that matter ... the sound is just not right, plus these are guaranteed to drone at speed so will eventually drive you insane, and require that you consume a carton of Marlboro's weekly.
There is Loud, and then there is Deep and Commanding ... with Borla knowing how to design mufflers that make their presence known on light throttle, have a perfect amount of attitude when jumping on the pedal ... and absolutely do not drone at constant speed ... plus they have less back pressure for improved flow compared to the FlowMaster chamber design.
Ah yes i completely forgot about Borla! thanks for reminding me. I'm certainly not looking for a loud, obnoxious tone so i will be sure to check them out.
Is there any info on the specs for the OEM muffler that are around? I'd like to try and match up one of the universal mufflers to something as close to the stock size & specs as possible.
Don't.....DON'T do the Flowmaster 50. I put that on my 4.6L Tundra. Sounded good in general at first. But got droney after a time. Of course my Tundra didn't have the resonator like the GX does.
