Default New 2017 CPO owner. Is this normal?

Hey all,

I've been reading threads here for months and I finally took delivery of a White on Ecru Premium CPO. So far I have been ecstatic of the purchase. I will be posting some pics soon after a few mods.

Just have one question... Every now and then when moving from a full stop, I feel a thunk from underneath. Only randomly happens from a full stop. Makes me think that the drive shaft has some play or something. Car drives smooth in all other scenarios. Is this normal?

Any thoughts?

You can try to grease the shaft, more info on this thread

Some GX470 owners reported that in some cases, replace the shaft will fix it. Not very expensive to replace.

On an upward hill? Not sure about the clunk but something to look at here.

thank you. Definitely happens on flat surfaces. I’ll try to grease it first. Is this something covered by CPO?

You might wish to tighten the propeller shaft bolts when you are lubricating the drivetrain. Is is recommended in the maintenance manual but to be honest, my vehicle is a 2017 and I have never done it before.

Should be covered under CPO but depending on mileage you should still be under factory powertrain warranty
