Default Something went terribly wrong when installing ARB Compressor.

*sigh*

Hey guys, I was hoping my first post wouldn’t be troubleshooting a screw up but here it is.

When I finished installing my ARB Compressor everything seemed to work fine. The switch would light up and the compressor would turn on. Red/yellow tapped into P/OUTLET slot and blue tapped into PANEL.

However, when I went to start the vehicle it whirred but didn’t turn over. A soft whir was heard when it was shut down so I unhooked the battery to make it stop. That stopped it. Upset, because I must’ve gotten it wrong; I then disconnected the tapped in fuses and replaced the fuses in their rightful spots. I unplugged the compressor and the switch to see if the GX would start but I still get the same whirring.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! I just picked up this vehicle last month. 2018 GX460 with 25k miles.

This silver cylinder is where the whirring is coming from.

Does your battery have enough charge? Can you hook it to a jumpstarter and try again?

Yeah, the battery is good. When I go to start it, all the lights flash like it’s possessed...then stops and the check engine light stays lit.

Guess I’m going to go get a code reader.

I was installing accessories and had the door open for a while and I drained the battery enough that somehow the high beams started flashing on its own. I tried starting the car and it didn’t start. I hooked up a jumper pack and it started up with no issues. Try jumping it.

I’m hopeful it’s only a drained battery. I have it on the trickle charger now. Never seen a vehicle react that way about a fading battery though.

the symptoms you have described are typical insufficient battery voltage with Lexus.

Yes, all is well! Thanks for setting my mind at ease, guys. Battery going out when working in the fuse box got me paranoid.
