Default Sleeping Platform Build

I live a close distance to trails and good overlanding areas and have thought about building a sleeping set up that can be removed from the GX. I’ve seen several examples, but they all remove the 3rd row. I’m struggling because I do use those extra seats at times.

I know leaving the 3rd row in would drastically decrease storage, but I’m just curious if anyone has tried something with it in? I’m not planning on doing long trips, just weekend ones, so I don’t need to be able to store my whole life. Just need enough room for a twin size bed and some storage.

(Also, I know about the roof tents, but I don’t want to go “all out” until I know it’s something that I’ll get the use out of.)

Seems a simple blow up mattress is the best solution here.

That’s what I plan on using but didn’t know if anyone had dimensions for something that’d have storage underneath or to the side.

Probably something I’ll have to think out myself but I’ll wait until it’s warmer here!

Related - are there window screens, or something to allow air circulating/exchange without allowing mosquitos a feeding frenzy?

Yes, I bought this last month and they fit very well:
Amazon Amazon

Was delivered in 2 weeks and very good quality and magnetic, so no hooks to tape on.

Do you have any photos of these installed? I would love to see them.

I forgot to post back pictures. Attached are a few pics.. these I've just stuck them with the default magnetic stickiness.. as you can see in the rear passenger window there is a ridge between the slide down and fixed glass pane, so the stiff wire border on mesh rises up a little. So not much fault of the mesh itself. But they come with 3m fixed hooks which you can use to not have this problem (i'm fine with magnetic because it does its job - blocks sunlight for kids sleep).
