GX 460 vs LX 570
Hi all, I want to get your opinion on which is a better buy. I have an LS460L so am not a regular on either forum, but thought id post the discussion on the GX side since it seems more active. I have a cabin in Vermont, and am looking for another vehicle specifically to stay up there, for trips up there for extended periods of time next winter. My awd volvo with snowtires is great up there, however its very low, and I want something with more ground clearance, and can seat 7-8 people. Im looking at both models around the 100k mark, and prefer a cool color and the adaptive cruise/lka package.

Based on your requirements, LX would be more suitable.

All GX470 do not have adaptive cruise control, nor LKA. Not sure which model year on LX570 beginning to introducing the adaptive cruise and LKA. But keep in mind, for Lexus LKA means Lane Keep Alert, NOT Assist, and only 2016+ LX offer full speed adaptive cruise control.
Based on your requirements, LX would be more suitable.

For long trip and riding comfort, LX definitely has the edge. Also, for OP’s requirement with seating for 7 or 8, it is pretty much need the LX. For GX, if you put anyone on third row, you are pretty much left without any cargo space without even touch the topic of how comfortable might be for the third row. GX third row is mainly for kits and in short trip ONLY.

I would only need the 7 seats for short trips, to take my buddies from the cabin to the ski resort. It seems impossible to find a LX with adaptive cruise (Not a must, but its nice for a 7 hour trip up and I am used to it on the LS). You can find GX all day under 20k, some with that package. Personally I like 2010-2013 GX 460 over the 2014 plus. Is there any major changes the the 14 plus other then looks?

I have a '13 GX. I love it. However, if I needed to drive around 6 other grown men/women, and wanted to stay in Toyota family, I would get the Sequoia all day.

We have both
We have both. 2010 LX and a 2011 GX ( and also a 99LX and a 04GX)
If you are hauling more than 4 adults regularly, the LX is the way to go. You can cram adults in the back of the GX, but it's not fun and they better be short people, as there is little leg room.
